1 Corinthians 7:25-28

1 Corinthians 7:32-35
And I want you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the things of the world, how to please his wife, and he is divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord, to be holy both in body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the things of the world, how to please her husband. Bible Verses About Being Single - Purity

One thing that is completely clear in scripture is that God created physical intimacy for a husband and wife. It is not allowed outside of marriage. I mention this in this context because it is one of the greatest challenges a single person faces. And so I offer this bible verse about remaining unmarried as a caution.

Hebrews 13:4
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. (NIV)

Our churches do a lot of damage when we try to drive young single adults toward marriage. Being single is not a curse - for some people it is a blessing as these verses show.
