Summary Verses For
Each Book of the Bible

Every verse in the bible is important. However, there are key bible verses that sometimes give us a little summary of what each book is about. Some of these summary bible verses are easy to spot, like John 20:31. Others are more difficult to locate.

I offer this list of key bible verses to help you understand what each individual book is about. I'd like to thank one of my readers who suggested this page. He plans to memorize each verse, which is a great way to keep the message of the biblical books in mind.

You might notice that there is only one verse for First and Second Samuel and one key bible verse for First and Second Kings. That's because when these books were originally written, they were not divided into firsts and seconds. Luke and Acts are also combined because the two books share a common author and purpose.

I chose not to write out the text of each key bible verse because people will probably want to memorize these verses in their own favorite translation. At the bottom of this page you'll find a link to a page where you can look up and read the passages in all the major bible translations.
