If you're looking for a tool to help kids (or you) memorize bible verses, this might be what you're looking for. A company called, Memory Cross, out of North Carolina, has developed a series of interactive cards that reveal the verse one section at a time. These colorful cards have fold out sections that, well, it's just hard to explain!
What Are Memory Cross Cards?
This tool that helps you memorize bible verses is very difficult to explain. Perhaps it would be easier to show you. Below is a graphic banner. Better than Memory Verse Cards
Memory verse cards are a great way to keep the bible verses you are memorizing close at hand. They fit in your pocket, purse, or briefcase. But if you're trying to encourage kids to memorize bible verses, memory verse cards aren't that helpful.But when I got my Memory Cross cards in the mail, my kids couldn't keep their hands off them! One of them memorized the Lord's Prayer within a couple minutes just because she couldn't put the card down.
Better than Ordinary Gospel Tracts
You've probably seen them at church - a gospel tract is a short pamphlet that presents the gospel. A Good Bible Memory Verse Game
In my opinion, these cards are as good as any bible memory verse game at helping kids memorize bible verses. You could even incorporate these cards into your bible verse memory game. For instance, go through the card together two or three times. Then read the first panel aloud. Then ask each team in turn to try and tell you what the next part of the verse says. Give five points for a perfect quote and two points for a partial quote. At the end of the class hand out cards for that verse to everyone who attended. I guarantee they will show their whole family.
Perfect for VBS or Sunday School
Memory Cross also offers VBS Craft Projects. These cards are 7 inches square. As the card folds, it presents a bible story. The pictures are in black and white and ready to be colored by your class.You can use these cards to supplement your bible story. Tell the bible story how you normally would. Then use the Memory Cross card to review the story. Before you fold open each panel, ask, "What happened next?" When you are done with the review, pass out cards to each student and let them color them in. They will then want to re-tell the story at home - and their parents will want to "play" with the cards too!
